Piper Carter is a pioneering photographer, cultural and community activist, and thriving business owner. Piper has organized and been involved in some of the most iconic cultural movements in the City of Detroit and established her bonafides internationally for creativity and groundbreaking work as the first African American woman to shoot for Hi-End publications such as French Vogue, British Elle, New York Times, Spin, & Essence Magazine.
Impressively, she has been able to bridge the gap between grassroots activism and successfully building thriving businesses, exemplifying the adage of making a living while making a difference.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Piper about her journey through artist management, acquiring funding for community projects, building a thriving brand, and being an agent of change and empowerment.
