I know what it feels like to be paralyzed by fears and anxieties about whether people will support me. Will they ridicule me? Will they ostracize me?
So you game plan things to death, in an effort to eliminate any chance of failure. In your mind, you're constantly on defense. Concerned about what others may say about you.
I started my entrepreneurial journey over 20 years ago, back when entrepreneur, equated to "unemployed". I was told I wouldn't receive support from those closest to me. Nowadays entrepreneurship is the bee's knees.
I was admitted to U of M because I didn't listen to others saying, "children like you" don't attend those types of institutions, despite my intellectual superiority and gifts. Shaking in my boots, I approached the college recruiter and handed her a five page essay (small print) about how I wanted to be a change agent and impact the world. And made history.
And I know I will continue to achieve, because of my willingness to feel the fear, and DO IT anyway. And YOU WILL too. As entrepreneurs we see things first. We're willing to be uncomfortable in the beginning, to experience a life of satisfaction in the end.
We all have birth dates. Death dates. And a dash. Fill that dash with courageous works. And be OK with being the topic of discussion among naysayers. Your movements are being discussed, because your life is much more interesting than theirs.
