My disdain for racist attitudes is not simply a guttural reaction... though it is. What I find really intolerable about it is simple. No one has a monopoly on ignorance, skulduggery, and malfeasance. No one has a monopoly on intellect, talent, or integrity either.
At the end of the day, talent is talent. The teams, organizations, nations, and businesses that achieve the super-majority of the time are the ones that have the most talent underneath their umbrella.
Racism wastes talent, time,.. it blunts achievement, it subversively blunts progress, productivity, and competition. Racism attempts to choose the winners, rather than simply allowing the strengths of one's character and value to win the day.
It is unarguably one of the most pitiful, shortsighted, selfish, and tragic weaknesses of humankind. I am convulsed by its most violent expressions, and equally nauseated by how it coyly manipulates the most unassuming minds.
